- BEAUTY & LIFESTYLE -

How would you describe your signature look and what is it about your style that sets you apart from other makeup artists?

Our signature look would be natural beauty – creating the fantasy of flawless skin while recreating bone structure to perfectly align facial symmetry via intricate contouring, highlighting, and sophisticated blending techniques. Color placement and shaping are equally as important. Every makeup artist has their own unique style and method for makeup artistry, however we are from the school of thought that “less is more” – so to speak. Our work is differentiated from many in that we focus heavily on creating the illusion of perfect facial symmetry while not letting makeup overpower one’s natural beauty.

Do you have any exciting projects coming up?

I (Austen) will be leaving in less than a week to co-produce a fashion editorial in the Dominican Republic. I will also be reviewing a high-end luxury resort in Punta Cana as a prospective honeymoon destination for soon-to-be brides and grooms. I am looking forward to not only reviewing the picturesque resort, but also to crafting beautiful makeup and producing strong tear sheets for everyone involved. It is always nice to book projects outside of New York City that allow you to travel to new places, embrace new cultures, and have new experiences.

If you could pick only one image each from your portfolio, which one would it be and why?

This is a very difficult question to answer! We would have to say it would either be the double-page spread for People Magazine on Johnny Weir that we did in our early years (since that was the first celebrity we had worked with) or our recent cover shot for World Bride Magazine at the St. Regis in New York City. This image was the result of working with an outstanding team where all of the elements came together magnificently – the fine jewelry, wardrobe styling, hair, makeup, location, and photography all represent the work of creative authorities.
