Has make up and beauty always been your passion? What made you pursue this field?
My passion for beauty started at a very young age. I remember at the age of 8 I was constantly playing with my mother's make up. My brother is a director and when I was younger I would visit him on set and hang out in the make up trailer. I really grew fond of the art and knew I wanted to pursue a career in the industry.
"I realized I could share my passion with other makeup artists and aspiring artists all around the world"
What made you engage with social channels and how do you see them as a platform?
I remember my agent calling me on the phone to tell me I needed to start Instagram. She told me it was the future, but at the time I was having difficulty understanding the need for it. But soon after I realized I could share my passion with other makeup artists and aspiring artists all around the world. It’s such a great way to inspire and be inspired.
Where do you get your inspiration to create new looks?
Fashion shows, magazines, art books, YouTube, Instagram.
What advice would you give to anyone starting in this industry right now?
It’s easy to get lost in this industry and forget who you are, where you came from and lose sight of your craft. There’s so much competition but you really need to stay grounded, focused and have a great work ethic because that’s eventually what leads you to success and keeps you there.
